Pangot is a village in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, India. It is situated 15 km from Nainital and is a part of the Kumaon Hills. It is surrounded by thick forest of pine and deodar trees and provides a breath-taking view of the Himalayan range. Pangot has a rich variety of bird life and is a paradise for bird watchers. Pangot and Kilbury Bird Sanctuary is located in the peaceful villages of Pangot and Sigri. Nature has blessed this location, which is one of the most visited in the entire Uttarakhand district. It is surrounded by a large forest and may take an entire day to visit this location by early morning. It is one of the best places in Pangot to go bird watching. Some of the rare birds found in Pangot are Neelkanth, Khalij Pheasant, Cheer Pheasant, Rose-ringed Parakeet, Forktail, Woodpecker, Flycatcher, Warbler, Buntings, Redstart, and Myna.
