Mukteshwar is a hill town in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, It sits at an altitude of 2,286 metres (7,500 feet) in the Kumaon Hills. Mukteshwar gets its name from an 350-year-Old old temple of Lord Shiva, known as Mukteshwar Dham, which offers a stunning 360-degree view of the Himalayan ranges. Mukteshwar is a popular tourist destination for its scenic beauty and tranquillity. The town is home to several fruit orchards, and is known for its production of quality plums, peaches and apricots. Mukteshwar Temple and Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple are some of the notable religious sites in the town.
